
Michael Bowden

Michael Bowden joined QIC’s State Investment team in December 2008 and focuses on the fixed interest exposures, across the various multi-asset portfolios, and asset and liability modelling. His responsibilities include capital market research in fixed interest markets (across inflation, nominal, credit, emerging markets and alternative credit), ongoing valuation monitoring and portfolio management.
As part of the Public Markets team, Michael is also involved in researching liquid alternative strategies and selecting and monitoring managers to implement these strategies.
Michael has 26 years of fixed interest experience in a variety of roles including front office, market risk and quantitative analysis. Prior to joining QIC Michael spent 14 years at the Queensland Treasury Corporation (the firm responsible for debt issuance for the Queensland State Government). Michael has a Bachelor of Applied Science majoring in Mathematics from the Queensland University of Technology and a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University.
