Paul Della-Marta leads PartnerRe’s Catastrophe Research team, which comprises natural scientists and engineers responsible for establishing the company’s catastrophe risk management guidelines.
Before assuming his current leadership role, Paul contributed to the development of tropical cyclone risk assessment guidelines and windstorm loss models, leveraging this expertise to evaluate the methodologies and results of vendor catastrophe models.
He holds a background in physics and meteorology and earned a PhD from the University of Bern, focusing on climate change.
Paul has authored or co-authored over 25 peer-reviewed scientific papers and was a contributing author to the IPCC special report on climate extremes.
